Shadow Flower

You must be quick, to capture the fleeting shapes. Oil paint on salvaged tracing papers. The oil seeps from the edges to create a halo, the shadows move, pattern on pattern. Over-lapping and under-lapping of chrysanthemums, carnations, lilies and asters - studies of sad supermarket flowers and the oft derided last-minute bunch from the garage forecourt. These bouquets are far from exotic, in this series Kavel makes the common place special.
